Joanna Ampril

Joanna Ampil, originally from Manila, Philippines, started singing at the age of six. She is currently appearing in Avenue Q in London's West End.

She has received rave reviews and numerous awards for her performances all over the world, including Mary Magdelene in Jesus Christ Superstar, Sheila Franklin in Hair, the ingénue June in Musical of Musicals, Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, Eponine and Fantine in Les Miserables, Eliza Doolittle in The Tribute to My Fair Lady, Mimi in Rent and Heidi in I Sing, amongst many others.

Joanna has also starred in the World Premier Concert One Day More, appeared in a documentary for the Discovery Channel called The Mummy Autopsy, and can be seen in 100 Greatest Musicals. She appeared in the Entente Cordial- Les Miserables' Special Performance for the Royal Family including Her Majesty the Queen and President Jacques Chirac at Windsor Castle, as well as Joanna Ampil-I love, which marked Joanna's first solo concert in Manila. Joanna released a charity single entitled "Reach for the Stars" for the benefit of orphans in Manila. She later released an album featuring songs from Hair, Rent, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, and many more. She was recently signed up by Sony Music Philippines with whom she is soon to release an album. She received an Australian MO award nomination for Best Actress in Miss Saigon, and a recipient of Manila's Aliw Award for her contribution to live entertainment internationally.
